Immersive Software Engineering in the University of Limerick

A huge thank you to Donncha O’ Treasaigh, LCETB Director of Schools for organising a very informative session on Immersive Software Engineering for all Guidance Counsellors in UL today. Thanks to the ISE staff for taking time out of their busy schedules to give a very comprehensive presentation on the course. A special word of thanks to Professor Tiziana Margaria, Course Director, Stephen Kinsella ISE Co- Director, Ian O’ Keeffe ISE Industry Coordinator and Keith Kerley, Head of ISE Marketing.

The basic idea of ISE is learn by doing, learning in studios and working on projects. Students can do work experience in up to five different companies. The job prospects for these students are off the charts. Every company in the world will want to hire them. This industry is recession proof. Software runs the world, everybody needs it.
Students will complete five industry residencies, which ensures they have a rich and varied experience of industry. The portfolio which is required is worth 300 CAO points.
There will be an intake of 50 students in September 2023.
This is an accelerate, intensive, immersive course.
It would suit highly able, ambitious, conscientious students.Ideally students should be independent learners with an ability to self organise and be aware of their preferred learning style.
If you would like more information please make an appointment with your Guidance Counsellor, Ms. Liston
