The creative component consists of art, music, digital creative media, science, personal development, enterprise, fashion and school shows. All students are encouraged to develop their creative side and to explore new opportunities that take them outside of their comfort zone.
Music
At Coláiste Iósaef, music plays and important role in many of our student’s co-curricular activities. Our students are guided through many musical genres and are free to explore their own area of individual musical interests.
At lunchtime, students may also avail of tuition in singing/choir, guitar and Irish traditional music on the tin whistle and flute, amongst other instruments. Rehearsals take place throughout the year for the instrumental groups and choir. They perform and enhance a number of school occasions throughout the year, school mass, open night, Christmas market, graduations and other events.
School Musical
The school musical is one of the major events of the school year. Each year, the TY students perform in a full-scale musical production. We have done shows like the Wizard of Oz, Grease, Mama Mia and many more. Our show is unusual as it comprises of TY students only. This is always one of the highlights of TY.
Junk Kouture
Junk Kouture is a fashion competition like no other!
Unleashing the creative brilliance of young people as they design and create fashion creations using recycled junk. Coláiste Iósaef has competed in Junk Kouture since its inception, with strong results.
